URL Settings feature makes it possible to allow or block a particular website. It also makes it possible to override category based settings i.e if you have blocked Social Media category in Category settings but want to allow www.facebook.com then you just need to add it in White List in URL settings, now all social media websites will be blocked except www.facebook.com.
Let's learn how we can use URL settings feature by following the instructions given below
Log in to your dashboard and identify the device (Lenovo A.., in this case) for which you want to customize the settings. Click ‘Rules’ link for that device.
By default, a rule named ‘Permanent’ will be available with no URLs blocked.
You can create as many rules as you want to with different filtering settings with specified time intervals. You can edit ‘Permanent Rule’ as well to allow and block certain URLs.
Click the ‘Edit’ icon and you will be shown a window with options to ‘Block Categories and Sites’.
Enter the URL to be restricted in the text field under ‘Specific Sites’ section. For instance, if you want to block a dating website 'en.netlog.com', provide its link in the text field and click the 'Block' button.
Press ‘Next’ after adding required URLs.
Press ‘Next’ button on the ‘Block Apps’ screen too.
Rule Details will now show the updated settings
