How do I configure Time management Feature for Android Device?

Time Management feature lets you decide when your kid can access device and when it should be locked. SecureTeen for Android provides you three types of Time Management Settings.

Daily Quota This type of setting allow you to set hours/minutes time for a particular day and child will be allowed to access the device for that certain time only and after the time exceeds, child will not be able to use the device any longer on that day. 

Bed Time This type of setting allows you to set block intervals. Child will not be able to use the device during bed time intervals.

Advanced Controls This type of setting gives you fine grained control and lets you partially restrict the device as per your requirement during set time intervals. Three Advance Controls options are available: School Time, Family Time and Study Time.

You can use Time Management feature by following the instructions given below:

Log in to your dashboard and identify the Child (Default, in this case) for which you want to customize the settings and click ‘Rules’, see image below.


Now click ‘Time Control’ tab as shown in the image below:


To customize Daily Quota, follow the instructions below:

Selects the day(s) and the time for which you wish to allow the device usage and press ‘Add Quota’ button.


Press ‘Save Changes’ button to retain the changes you made. The setting will show the message in red ‘Processing Recent Changes’.


Once the changes update on device, this message will disappear and device usage will be allowed for set time only on specified day(s).


To customize ‘Bed Time’ settings, follow the instructions below:

Click ‘Bed Time’ tab under ‘Time Control’. Selects the day(s) and the time interval during which you want the device be restricted and press ‘Add Interval’ button. You may set multiple intervals for the whole week as required.


Once interval(s) are added, press ‘Save Changes’ button to retain the changes you made. The setting will show the message in red ‘Processing Recent Changes’.


Once the changes update on device, this message will disappear and all apps on device will then be restricted during set intervals.


To customize the ‘Advance Controls’, follow the instructions below:

Click ‘Advance Controls’ tab under ‘Time Control’. Then click ‘Create Advance Rule’ option.


Select the ‘Rule Type’, for instance, ‘School Time’.


Select if you want to block everything on child's device Or block specific sites and apps only.


A. If you selected ‘Block Everything’, press ‘Next’ button and add interval(s) on the next screen.


Press ‘Next’ button.


Press ‘Finish’ button.


The newly created rule will appear in Advance Controls tab and you can check the details of that rule by clicking the link ‘View Rule Details’


‘Processing Recent Changes’ message in red will appear as the rule is added and will disappear as soon as the settings update on device.

To add another rule, click ‘Create Advance Rule’ button again.


B. If you selected ‘block specific sites and apps’, press ‘Next’ button and add interval(s) on the next screen.


Next screen allows you to set Categories, URL and keyword (user defined and adult keyword) settings. Make the changes accordingly and press ‘Next’ button.



Set ‘Block Apps’ rules and press ‘Next’ button.


Press ‘Finish’ button.


The newly created rule will appear in Advance Controls tab and you can check the details of that rule by clicking the link ‘View Rule Details’
